Cokemaking Course

Ironmaking Course

Key areas covered include: Raw materials selection and preparation, Coke production and use in the blast furnace, Blast furnace theory, design, and operation, Refractories and slag, and Engineering issues.

Steelmaking Course

The steelmaking course is aimed at middle managers and plant technical, production and engineering functions. and is a mixture of formal presentations and informal discussion, backed up by team project case studies for presentation on the final day.

Casting Course

The training objectives of the course are to provide a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental science and technology involved in the continuous casting process.

Reheating

The reheating process uses around 50% of the total energy costs involved in operating a mill. Savings that can therefore be achieved by improving the fuel efficiency of these furnaces are of significant value.
